Workshop Supervisor | Al-Futtaim Automotive | DOMASCO

Overview of the role:
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead workshop operations, drive technician productivity, and ensure exceptional service quality within our automotive aftersales business in Qatar. Reporting to the Service Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing daily repair and maintenance activities, maximizing workshop efficiency, achieving service revenue targets, and ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will lead a team of technicians, maintain dealership standards, promote a "Fix It Right First Time" culture, and support the continuous development of the technical team.

What you will do:

Manage daily workshop operations, capacity planning, and job allocation to maximize workshop utilization.
Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, and time booking to achieve operational KPIs.
Control work-in-progress (WIP), carry-over jobs, and workshop loading to optimize throughput.
Ensure compliance with workshop safety, security, and operational standards.
Drive Fix It Right First Time (FRFT) performance through quality inspections and technical oversight.
Implement and maintain dealership and manufacturer workshop standards.
Monitor and maintain workshop tools, equipment, and technical resources.
Support customer satisfaction by ensuring vehicles are repaired correctly and delivered on time.
Collaborate with Service Advisors to identify and communicate additional repair requirements.
Analyze repeat repair cases and implement corrective actions.
Assist in managing technical escalations and field technical reports.
Maintain technical bulletins, workshop manuals, and quality documentation.
Conduct daily and weekly technician meetings to communicate priorities and updates.
Coach, motivate, and develop technicians through performance reviews, training plans, and on-the-job coaching.
Support technician certification programs, e-learning initiatives, and new product training.
Contribute to service revenue growth and continuous improvement initiatives across the workshop.

Required skills to be successful:

Strong workshop operations and automotive aftersales management experience.
Proven ability to lead and motivate technician teams.
Excellent understanding of workshop productivity, efficiency, and capacity management.
Strong diagnostic and automotive technical knowledge.
Experience implementing quality control processes and FRFT initiatives.
Knowledge of dealership operations, service KPIs, and customer satisfaction metrics.
Ability to analyze productivity reports, WIP reports, and repeat repair trends.
Experience working with ERP systems and workshop management systems.
Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced dealership environment.

You will be part of a high-performing Service team focused on delivering industry-leading aftersales support and customer experiences. The workshop team plays a critical role in customer retention, operational excellence, and the achievement of service revenue targets. Working closely with Service Advisors, Technical Support teams, and management, you will help create a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What equips you for the role:

Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or ITI qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
5-7 years of overall automotive dealership experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a Workshop Supervisor or equivalent leadership role within an automotive service environment.
Strong knowledge of automotive dealership and distributor business processes.
Experience managing workshop technicians and service operations.
Working knowledge of MS Office applications and ERP systems.
Demonstrated technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Strong leadership, analytical, and people management skills.
High level of integrity, accountability, and professional work ethics.
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
