Overview Of The Role:
The Sales Assistant plays a crucial role in generating sales and delivering a positive customer experience in the market hall area. This position supports all operational duties assigned by the shopkeeper, including arranging products and maintaining the sales floor. Success in this role involves meeting sales targets, demonstrating a friendly and engaging personality, and working well as part of a sales team. The assistant needs to be comfortable interfacing with customers and have a thorough understanding of retail sales dynamics, particularly in fast-moving stock environments. Physical fitness is important as the role requires standing for long hours and lifting stock. Being confident, helpful, and polite are key attributes for thriving in this role.
What You Will Do:
Create a sparkling clean and organized environment by maintaining store standards and cleanliness.
Represent a positive attitude toward the merchandise, the brand, and the company.
Meet or exceed weekly sales targets and contribute to achieving financial goals.
Participate in all market hall inventories and keep the stock well-managed.
Attend all store meetings and related functions to stay informed and engaged.
Maintain punctuality and adhere to the designated work schedule consistently.
Work flexibly with peers and management to accomplish duties efficiently.
Greet customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile and a warm welcome.
Provide customers with current and relevant information about products.
Adhere to IKEA policies and procedures 100% and promote brand standards.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
Retail sales expertise, particularly in fast-moving consumer goods.
Ability to engage positively with customers and maintain a welcoming store environment.
Strong adherence to company policies and procedures.
Sales target achievement and inventory management capabilities.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
High School Degree.
Minimum of 1 year of retail sales experience.
Ability to maintain physical standards, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
Good verbal communication skills and customer-focused attitude.
