SENIOR CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR (PIPING)

Qualification

• B.Sc. or HND in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Petroleum Engineering discipline from a recognized University. Alternatively Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics (or) Petroleum Engineering with extensive hands-on experience in piping fabrication, erection, sub-system and system completion, line walk, hydrotest, leak test and preservation in the fabrication yard and offshore hook-up of major topsides, process and utility platforms, bridges etc. could be considered in lieu of lesser qualification.

Experience

• A minimum of 10-12 years’ experience in relevant construction and installation activities in projects of oil & gas industry.
• The position is predominantly focused on Piping related scope of major Greenfield topsides, jacket and bridges fabrication and offshore hook-up. Hence, strong fabrication, erection, testing and hook-up of piping. is a must.
• Good knowledge of piping spool fabrication and installation, piping and equipment like walk, punch list close-out, subsystem and system mechanical completion etc. is preferred.
• Understanding construction techniques in piping and equipment installation on for various types of process platforms, utility platforms and Well Head Jackets.

• Permits to work, incl Isolation & Lock Out/Tag Out of live services,

• Tie-in to live facilities, including testing and integration to existing systems
• Computer literate. Good communication and writing skills.
• Excellent knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety and environmental awareness.
• Excellent ability to interpret and review method statements, lifting plan, inspection and test plans, construction schedules and drawings.
• Ability to highlight potential bottlenecks/problems and ability to suggest solutions.
• Ability to supervise, cooperate and coordinate with multi-national and multi-cultural contractor workforce.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure Contractor executes the topsides, jackets and bridges fabrication and offshore installation, hook-up and mechanical completion in accordance with company requirements.
• Must have the ability to breakdown the scope in work-packs, job cards to identify equipment, manpower, material and schedule to complete the scope.
• Must have previous demonstrable knowledge and experience in review and approve EPIC contractor’s construction deliverables including drawings, procedures, method statements, work-packs, job cards, lifting plans, Level 4 schedule etc.
• Monitor, control and report Contractor’s performance, man-power deployment, plant and equipment’s movements, construction slippages etc.
• Conduct daily and weekly meetings with Contractors involving all discipline supervisors, QA/QC Inspectors and HSE advisors and address/resolve issues hindering progress.
• Act as the construction Risk Management representative to identify Construction Risk events, the effects & consequences, propose mitigation measures and take ownership to ensure mitigation measures have been implemented at site.
• Review and forward to management daily and weekly construction progress reports for assigned projects and verify contractor’s progress statements for accuracy.
• Liaise with senior discipline engineers throughout all phases of the project for all construction related matters including inputs during the detailed engineering and procurement stages.
• Check and ensure that all construction works are completed in accordance with approved standards and consistent with contract specifications.
• Coordinate the MCC walk through, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities with contractors, vendors and end users.
• Maintain a daily record of progress noting special comments. Reports to supervisor work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommend corrective actions and report to PMT.
• Monitor and control control work permits to ensure that contractor compliance with conditions fixed on consolidated work permits.
• Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors to offshore sites following the contract award.
• Under the general supervision of Head, Construction – Greenfield; initiate decisions on the project issues within the framework of respective contract documents, company procedures/guidelines, in close coordinate and concurrence with the project team.
• Takes responsibility for all matters outside of normal working hours during construction phases of the project.
• Accountable for efficiently managing site construction activities leading to construction, pre-commissioning in accordance with policies and procedures.
