About Us:

HKN Hamrin Ltd. is a privately held, independent oil and gas company operating in the Republic of Iraq. The Hamrin Block is comprised of 535 km2 and contains one producing field. The Hamrin field produces oil primarily from the Tertiary (Miocene) reservoirs — the Jeribe and Euphrates formations — with the Dhiban formation as a secondary reservoir.

At HKN, our strength lies in our highly experienced, diverse team, whose professionals bring insights from working across 80+ countries. We are committed to building a culture deeply rooted in our Core Values, which include Integrity, Respect, Commitment, Excellence, and Teamwork.

Position Summary:

  • Provides support to every department in managing HKN Hamrin materials, making sure receiving, issuing and returns procedures are followed consistently and accurately.
  • Core responsibilities include running warehouse operations, managing inventory and assets, disposing of goods, and coordinating local logistics.

Main Duties & Responsibilities: (Note: MMP means HKN’s Material Management Procedure)

  • Oversee the receiving of all materials and equipment, making sure each delivery is inspected, logged and handled in line with MMP standards.
  • Carries out detailed checks on incoming goods to confirm they meet the required specifications and MMP guidelines before they are accepted.
  • Keeps receiving paperwork complete and accurate, filing it in both physical and electronic form as the MMP requires.
  • Issues materials against Work Orders in the “HolisTech” materials management system, so every movement is tracked and accountable under MMP procedures.
  • Manages the return of materials from the field, making sure every returned item is documented and recorded correctly.
  • Works in HolisTech and P-SRP to enter data accurately: raises Goods Received Notes (GRNs) in P-SRP, handles Book In / Book Out transactions, and prepares Goods Transfer Notes and Dispatch Notes in the relevant system. Updates inventory records every day.
  • Knows vendor storage recommendations and apply them where relevant.
  • Keeps material descriptions in the system accurate and consistent, so items can be clearly identified and traced.
  • Performs inventory audits, looks into any discrepancies, finds their root causes and puts corrective actions in place.
  • Uses the P-SRP Procurement module to follow the status of requisitions and to retrieve key documents such as packing lists and correspondence.
  • Make sure all related documentation is updated daily and well organized on HKN's shared drive, including creating folders and filing OS&D reports.
  • Plans and monitors of local transport of materials between Kirkuk and the HKN Hamrin field sites, recording every service request in P-SRP and choosing cost-effective logistics options.
  • Leads the warehouse team and ensures that warehouse operations and materials handling follow the MMP.
  • Works closely with the contractors serving the warehouse (for example warehouse rental, transport and forklifts) to make sure they deliver as agreed. Escalates service failures or poor performance to HKN's Contracts department and the contractor concerned and follows them through to resolution.
  • Communicates professionally with all parties and follows IT and communication protocols.
  • Runs daily toolbox talks and prepares Task Risk Analysis (TRA) documents, keeping the records maintained and filed.
  • Reports any HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) incident to their line manager without delay.
  • Complies fully with HKN's safety requirements and champions a strong safety culture on site.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least ten (10) years of experience in warehouse operations and materials management; prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Solid background in materials and logistics management, ideally in oil & gas or drilling operations.
  • Working knowledge of materials management software, such as procurement systems.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work productively with vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word).
  • Forklift certification; a crane or rigging certification is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing conditions and resolve issues quickly.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and supervising teams, encouraging collaboration and adherence to warehouse and safety protocols.
  • Ability to motivate and support team members so that operational goals are met and productivity stays high.

Working Conditions:

The role is carried out across the warehouse office, the laydown yard and outdoor areas, so you will be exposed to heat, cold, noise and changing weather. You must be able to lift up to 25 kg, stand and walk for long periods, and wear the required PPE. To support field operations, schedules may involve extended hours, weekend work, on-call availability or rotating shifts.
