Personal Service Technician | Al-Futtaim Automotive | Electric Mobility

Overview of the role:

As a Personal Service Technician (PST), you will play a critical role in delivering an exceptional ownership experience for Polestar customers across the UAE. Combining advanced technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, you will be responsible for the complete workshop journey, from service booking and vehicle reception through diagnosis, repair, invoicing, and vehicle handover.

You will utilize advanced diagnostic tools and OEM repair procedures to identify and rectify faults efficiently while ensuring compliance with Polestar and Al-Futtaim standards. This role requires a technician who is passionate about electric vehicle technology, committed to a "Fix It Right First Time" approach, and dedicated to delivering outstanding customer satisfaction.

What you will do:

Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, periodic maintenance, and accessory fitment in accordance with Polestar repair manuals and OEM standards.
Manage the end-to-end customer service journey, including booking appointments, vehicle reception, technical consultations, repair updates, invoicing, and vehicle handover.
Diagnose and resolve vehicle concerns using advanced diagnostic systems and high-voltage EV diagnostic tools.
Ensure compliance with the Fix It Right (FIR) process to maximize first-time fix rates and customer retention.
Create and manage warranty documentation, Electronic Warranty Approval Requests (EWARF), and warranty claims in accordance with OEM requirements.
Complete work order administration for warranty, goodwill, insurance, and leasing cases.
Conduct accurate Electronic Vehicle Checks and maintain detailed technical reports.
Ensure workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic systems are available, calibrated, maintained, and updated.
Achieve productivity, utilization, sold-hours, and customer satisfaction targets.
Support the development of junior technicians through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training.
Ensure full adherence to HSSE, 5S, quality, and workshop operating standards.

Required skills to be successful:

Advanced diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities.
Strong understanding of EV systems, high-voltage components, and modern automotive technology.
Excellent customer relationship management skills.
Ability to explain technical concerns and repair solutions in simple customer-friendly language.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities.
Expertise in using OEM diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
Strong technical reporting and documentation skills.
Knowledge of dealership warranty processes and quality standards.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, repair manuals, and technical documentation.
High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and safety.

You will join the Polestar Aftersales team within Al-Futtaim Automotive, supporting one of the world's fastest-growing electric vehicle brands. The team is committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences while supporting the rapid adoption of sustainable mobility solutions across the UAE. Working closely with the Aftersales Manager, workshop colleagues, service teams, and technical specialists, you will contribute to maintaining industry-leading service standards and ensuring customers enjoy a seamless Polestar ownership experience.

What equips you for the role:

IMI Light Vehicle Master Technician (Level 3-4) or equivalent qualification.
Advanced OEM certification such as Diagnostic Master, Gold Technician, or equivalent.
Minimum 6-7 years of experience as a Light Vehicle Technician.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Diagnostic Technician within an automotive dealership environment.
Experience working with electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, or high-voltage systems is highly preferred.
Previous customer-facing experience within service operations or workshop environments.
Proficiency in advanced diagnostic equipment and online troubleshooting platforms.
Experience with warranty processing and dealer management systems such as SAP.
Strong understanding of OEM standards and workshop processes.
Valid driving licence and practical vehicle handling experience.
