We are seeking an experienced Senior Control System Engineer to provide technical leadership and specialist control engineering support throughout the EPC, commissioning, start-up, and handover phases of major oil & gas projects. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that all control systems are designed, implemented, tested, and handed over in accordance with operational requirements while maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, operability, maintainability, and cybersecurity.

This position will serve as a key link between Project Management Teams, Operations, Engineering, contractors, and vendors to ensure project deliverables fully meet operational expectations throughout the facility lifecycle.

Control Systems Engineering Support

• Provide specialist control engineering expertise during EPC, commissioning, start-up, and facility handover stages.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations to ensure operational excellence and asset integrity.
• Support commissioning and start-up activities, including troubleshooting, system validation, performance optimization, and operational readiness assessments.
• Conduct failure investigations, root cause analysis, warranty claim evaluations, and technical issue resolution.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) activities related to control systems and automation assets.

Reliability, Availability & Cybersecurity

• Develop and implement surveillance programs for critical control systems.
• Ensure high standards of system reliability, availability, maintainability, and cybersecurity.
• Identify and manage operational risks associated with new technologies and control system implementations.
• Support the establishment and execution of integrity management programs for control and automation equipment.

Project & Operational Support

• Provide technical guidance and engineering support to multidisciplinary teams across Operations, Maintenance, and Projects.
• Support project tie-ins and system integration activities to ensure smooth transitions from project execution to operations.
• Maintain and manage issue registers, ensuring timely identification, tracking, and resolution of critical technical issues.
• Prepare discipline-specific handover documentation and technical packages for operating assets following project completion.

Commissioning & Start-Up Activities

• Support high-risk commissioning activities for large-scale and complex projects.
• Conduct detailed system surveillance and verification during commissioning phases.
• Optimize and fine-tune control systems to achieve operational performance targets.
• Provide specialist technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams during start-up and stabilization periods.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Supervise and coordinate activities performed by contractors, consultants, vendors, and service providers.
• Mentor and support junior engineers in reliability, integrity, and control systems engineering practices.
• Collaborate with Project Management Teams, Operations personnel, engineering specialists, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ)

• Ensure all engineering and operational activities are executed in compliance with company HSE and Quality policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture throughout project execution, commissioning, and operational handover activities.
• Support risk reduction initiatives and ensure control system solutions contribute to safe and reliable operations.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven experience supporting EPC projects, commissioning, start-up, and operational handover activities.
• Demonstrated experience with industrial control systems, automation systems, and process control environments.

Technical Skills

• Strong competency in control systems engineering within hydrocarbon processing facilities.
• Experience with control system troubleshooting, system optimization, reliability improvement, and asset integrity management.
• Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity principles related to control and automation systems.
• Familiarity with commissioning procedures, operational readiness activities, and Management of Change (MOC)

  processes.

• Proficient in engineering software, technical applications, and Microsoft Office tools.
