MEP Inspector

MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Inspector checks and monitors mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on construction sites to make sure they match approved designs, safety rules, and building codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Inspections: Check daily MEP installation work on site to ensure it follows official drawings and project guidelines.
• Testing and Commissioning: Witness and approve functional tests for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and electrical equipment.
• Quality Control: Review delivered materials to confirm they match approved submittals and quality standards.
• Report Deficiencies: Document non-compliant or poor work, issue notices, and track corrective fixes with contractors.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all installation activities follow local Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) rules.
• Record Keeping: Maintain clear logs, inspection requests, and daily progress reports.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5 to 10 years of general construction experience, with a strong focus on MEP inspection or quality control.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of MEP codes and standards (such as NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC, or local municipal rules).
• Reading Plans: Ability to read and interpret complex shop drawings, schematics, and method statements.
• Communication: Strong coordination skills to work smoothly with contractors, project managers, and engineers.
