About Best Code

Best Code is a design, innovation, and development studio. We build websites, business systems, and brand and graphic design solutions for clients and for our own products across Iraq and the MENA region. We are looking for a software engineer who can combine strong development skills with a good eye for design.

The Role

You will work with our founder and design team to build websites and custom systems from planning through launch. You will turn designs into fast, polished web experiences, develop the systems behind them, and support the team with graphic design work when needed.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain responsive websites and web applications
Build custom systems such as dashboards, management systems, admin panels, and business tools
Develop and integrate backend services, APIs, and databases
Turn UI/UX and graphic designs into clean, pixel-accurate front-end code
Create and support graphic design work: brand identity, logos, social media designs, posters, and marketing materials
Optimize websites for speed, security, SEO, and cross-browser performance
Deploy, host, and maintain websites and systems, including domains, servers, and updates
Work with clients and the team to understand requirements and deliver on time
Write clean, documented code and collaborate through Git

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
2+ years of professional experience in web and software development
Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a modern framework (React, Next.js, Vue, or similar)
Backend experience with Node.js, PHP (Laravel), Python, or similar
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar)
Experience building and integrating REST APIs
Working knowledge of graphic design tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva
Good knowledge of Git and version control
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Good communication skills in English (Kurdish and Arabic are a plus)

Nice to Have

Experience with WordPress or other CMS platforms
Knowledge of UI/UX principles, branding, and typography
Experience with hosting, cloud services, and CI/CD
Basic knowledge of SEO and web analytics
Experience with motion graphics or video editing
Experience building data-driven systems and dashboards
Experience of mobile development
