Inspector - Lifting Equipment

Degree/ Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or HNC (Higher National Certificate) or an approved equivalent

• Preferred 3-8 year experience in Lifting/ construction/ earthmoving equipment/ Elevator inspection
• Familiar with basic equipment inspection, international lifting equipment codes and standards for performing the inspection and certification
• Experience in maintenance of construction equipment and crane is preferable.
• Conversant with relevant inspection techniques
• Able to carry out inspection according to pre-defined Quality plan and procedures
• Able to interpret inspection results (main like Y/N)
• Computer skills
• Report Writing skills
• Knowledge of English
• Knowledge of Arabic language would be a plus

• QatarEnergy Approved Inspectors - 3 years of experience in inspection and certification after qualifying the 3rd LEEA, for both Degree Holders & Diploma Holders.
• LEEA Discipline
• LEEA qualifications (Part 1 Entrance, Lifting Gear General, Lifting Machines Manual, Lifting Machines Power, etc.) and familiar with inspection of all type of Lifting Equipment preferably with Third Party Inspection experience
• Electrical Discipline
• Basic Knowledge of BS 7671 17th Edition and Portable Appliance testing experience
• Elevator Discipline
• Knowledge of EN 81, EN 115 and BS 2830
• Previous experience of in-service inspection advantageous
• Pressure Discipline
• Knowledge of PED, EN 764, EN 12959, EN12953, EN14570 and API 510
• Previous experience of in-service inspection of pressure vessels and boilers

1. 1. • Review of applicable contractual requirements (technical standards, specifications, etc)
      • Definition and review of Quality Plan and the relevant procedures
      • Review and validation of inspection assignment documentation (technical aspects, reference documentation, schedule, milestones, reporting, logistics, coordination procedure, etc)
      • Definition of Bureau Veritas interventions
      • Selection of the most appropriate inspection techniques
      • Execution of inspection according to predefined Quality Plan, and to the established inspection procedures/ techniques
      • Execution of inspection reporting including treatment of non-conformities (NCR's) and other applicable deliverables
      • Ensuring quality of inspection according to BV Quality System.
      • Promotes BV portfolio to clients
      • Respects security guidelines of BV and safeguards personal security in the working environment
      • Actively participates in the sharing of knowledge and information (Knowledge management)
      • Performs/ Reports inspections subjects to close quality monitoring.

      • Witnessing the proof load testing of various Lifting gears such as Wire rope slings, shackles, master links, hooks, plate clamps etc.,
      • Inspection, certification and witnessing the proof load testing of offshore cargo carrying units.
      • Inspection, certification and performing the proof load testing of Tower cranes, Mobile cranes, boom truck cranes, EOT Cranes, Floor cranes, Forklifts and Man lifts etc.
