Job Summary:
The Chemist is responsible for providing technical support for
production and refinery chemicals, evaluating chemical treatment requirements,
supporting field trials and testing, troubleshooting production and process
problems, and optimizing chemical applications for clients in Iraq.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
· Provide
technical support for the selection, application, and optimization of
production and refinery chemicals.
· Evaluate
production and process problems and recommend suitable chemical treatment
programs.
· Support the
use of production, refinery, and water-treatment chemicals.
· Review crude,
produced-water, gas, refinery, and process data to support chemical selection
and treatment decisions.
· Conduct or
support bottle tests, jar tests, compatibility tests, corrosion tests, and
water-treatment testing.
· Recommend
suitable products, injection points, dosage rates, monitoring methods, and
optimization programs.
· Plan,
conduct, and evaluate field chemical trials and monitor performance.
· Monitor
chemical performance and optimize dosage and cost effectiveness.
· Troubleshoot
emulsions, corrosion, scale, foam, wax, asphaltenes, water, bacteria, deposits,
and process contamination issues.
· Provide
technical support to clients and prepare technical proposals, reports, and
presentations.
· Coordinate
with chemical manufacturers, laboratories, suppliers, and clients.
· Support sales
and business-development activities with technical input.
· Visit client
sites, oilfields, refineries, laboratories, and other locations in Iraq as
required.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
· Bachelor’s
degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum
Engineering, or a related field.
· At least 5
years of experience in related field
· English is
required; Kurdish and Arabic are valued
· Proven
practical experience with production, refinery, or water-treatment chemicals.
· Practical
experience in an oilfield, refinery, laboratory, manufacturer, or service
company environment.
· Strong
knowledge of chemicals such as demulsifies, corrosion inhibitors, antifoams,
water clarifiers, and related treatment products.
· Experience
with testing, product selection, dosage, injection, field trials, monitoring,
and optimization.
· Ability to
interpret laboratory, operational, technical, and SDS data.
· Strong
practical troubleshooting skills with a focus on effective and cost-conscious
solutions.
· Good
reporting, presentation, communication, and client-support skills.
· Knowledge of
HSE requirements and safe chemical handling.
· Willingness
to travel and work at field and industrial sites.
· Familiarity
with the Iraqi oil, gas, refinery, or energy industry is an advantage.
Working Conditions & Benefit Package:

Working Days and Hours: 6 days per week, 8 hours
per day
·
Salary: $1,500 USD per month
·
Annual Leave: Available
·
Commission: NO commission.
