Head of Cargo Products
Qatar Airways Cargo is seeking a commercially minded product leader to shape, grow and future-proof its global product portfolio. Based at our Doha headquarters, you will report to the Senior Vice President Cargo Revenue Management. You will work across Commercial, Operations, Digital and our strategic airline partners to turn market opportunities into products our customers value and our network can reliably deliver.
About the Role
As Head of Cargo Products, you will own the strategy, design, launch, lifecycle and commercial performance of Qatar Airways Cargo's product portfolio. This covers special handling and time-critical products such as pharma, perishables, live animals, express, high-value and e-commerce. You will lead a team of subject matter experts and make sure every product has a clear value proposition, is priced to maximise yield, delivers consistently across our network and our joint business partners' networks, and drives profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Set the global product strategy and roadmap in line with Qatar Airways Cargo's objectives.
- Own the full product lifecycle, from idea and business case through launch, performance tracking, improvement and retirement.
- Set KPIs for each product and review portfolio performance regularly with Sales, RM and Operations.
- Prepare business cases for new products and investments, including financial return, risk, and brand and reputation impact.
Commercial Development & Go-to-Market
- Find and prioritise growth opportunities by vertical, lane and customer segment, and turn them into product growth plans in close cooperation with Sales.
- Run product launches and relaunches, including value propositions, positioning, and commercial and training materials, with the Sales, Marketing and regional teams.
- Build and strengthen relationships with key shippers, manufacturers, forwarders and industry bodies to shape the portfolio and support commercial success.
Strategic Airline Partnerships & Joint Businesses
- Work closely with joint business partners, including IAG Cargo and MASkargo, to develop and roll out joint product offers.
- Align product definitions, service standards, handling procedures and acceptance rules across partner networks, so customers get the same experience end to end.
- Lead product governance with partners, covering joint roadmaps, performance reviews and continuous improvement, and help grow the value of each joint business.
- Assess new partnership product opportunities, such as interline, codeshare and network extensions, that widen the reach of Qatar Airways Cargo's portfolio.
Pricing, Revenue & Distribution
- Work with Revenue Management to design product pricing structures, surcharges, capacity and acceptance rules that make the most of each product's value.
- Make sure products are fully built into quotation, pricing and booking systems, and can be booked through direct and third-party digital channels.
Product Governance & Operational Delivery
- Set product standards, procedures and service-level agreements, and monitor how well the hub and network deliver against them, working with Cargo Operations.
- Define the product requirements for infrastructure, equipment and handling partners (for example, temperature-controlled facilities and transport), working with the infrastructure and operations teams.
- Run product quality, audit and continuous improvement programmes.
- Keep up with regulatory and industry standards, such as IATA CEIV, dangerous goods and live animal regulations, and make sure products stay compliant.
- Coordinate business continuity and contingency planning for sensitive products with Operations, IOC and other stakeholders.
Market Intelligence & Innovation
- Track competitors, market trends and technology to find new product opportunities, including digital, sustainable and end-to-end solutions.
